Milwaukee Est. 2008

"BUSINESS: Prior to New Look, fewer than 40% of Milwaukee youth felt prepared for a career of their choice, could identify steps for success and use basic business skills. All three competencies grew to 100% after participating in New Look."

Almost 6,000 youth dropped out of the class of 2010 from Milwaukee public schools, with only 48% of minority females and 34% of minority males graduating on time.  Representing millions of dollars in lost economic benefit, this is a serious problem. New Look is supporting youth in Milwaukee by teaching them the value of education and developing their social and academic skills to prepare them to be leaders in their future careers and give back to their community. Considering this, one New Look youth started a project—Over The Gap – to support educational access among Hispanic youth. He later became part of the New Look youth training team that traveled to London, England to introduce the New Look model. Other issues being addressed by New Look youth in Milwaukee include food and nutrition and literacy.
