With an unemployment rate of around 30%, Detroit is one of the cities in the United States most affected by the economic downturn, but the work of New Look leaders proves that youth are gaining the skills and experiences to shape their economic futures. Detroit has some of New Look’s strongest leaders who have hosted Powered By Service trainings in their own community and who have been a part of the youth training team that traveled to Nairobi, Kenya. Youth in Detroit are addressing the issue of bullying in their schools and are working diligently to complete a high quality PSA with original music and video production to address the problem.
